Utafiti Associates is run by a committed and dedicated small team of four people led by the Executive Director, reporting and accountable to the Board of Directors. The other members of staff are the Research and Publications Manager, Capacity and Program Development Manager and Accountant/financial advisor.

Equally important, Utafiti Associates maintains a pool of multidisciplinary and highly qualified Associates whom are engaged in assignments as appropriate.

The following is a brief description of the key office bearers:

     Dr. Evaristo M. Haulle – Executive Director

     Key Competencies:

Dr. Haulle holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Dar es Salaam preceded by Masters of Arts Degree in Geography and Environmental Management and B.A (Hons) in Geography and Environmental Studies from University of Dar es Salaam. He has lectured in several universities in Tanzania including Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE), and the University of Dar es Salaam Main campus (UDSM). He has researched and consulted widely in areas of rural livelihoods, Education, Disaster Risk Management, governance, traditional and environmental knowledge systems, land and energy and resource conflicts. He is experienced in leading and managing research related project teams.

     Mary Namusoke Mwamsiku – Capacity and Program Development Manager

     Key Competencies

Mary holds an M.A degree in Education and International Development from the University of London, before which she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University. She has over 8 years of development work in program management in NGOs and private business sector. Mary has also conducted researches related to baseline surveys  e.g. Team Facilitator for A baseline survey for strengthening farmer producers, processors and marketing associations under Litenga Holding Ltd in four wards of Songea District in Ruvuma Region. Team Lead- A baseline survey for Training Needs Assessment for farmer groups and SACCOS under Dunduliza project with Litenga Holding Ltd in Maposeni and Kilagano wards of Songea district. She has undertaken and led teams to execute a number of translation and related assignments such as translation of video subtitles and simultaneous interpretation.

     Comfort Severa Maembe - Research and Publications Manager

     Key Competencies:

Comfort has trained as Language teacher and taught Kiswahili and English in secondary schools for over ten years. She studied for a Diploma in Education, before studying Fine and Performing Arts at Bachelors and Masters Degree levels. At Utafiti, Comfort is reputed for her mastery in analyzing source language materials and producing initial drafts in the target language. Her specialized training in policy demystification and popularization; combined with her expertise in artistic communications to varied range of audiences has always benefitted Utafiti in translation and event organization assignments.

     Buxton Madyedye - Accountant and Financial Advisor

     Key Competencies:

He holds graduate Degree in Finance and Accountancy with over five years of professional experience in the field including government accounting, profit and not for profit organizations.
